Reiki is a quiet place to receive, rest, and reconnect.
Reiki is a Japanese relaxation and stress-reduction practice that uses gentle hands-on or hands-over techniques to invite deep rest and a greater sense of ease.
During a Reiki session, you remain fully clothed and comfortably supported while I place my hands gently on or just above different areas of your body.
There is no massage, manipulation, or physical adjustment involved. Instead, the session is intentionally quiet and still, giving you an opportunity to rest, receive, and notice your own experience.
Reiki is based on the traditional belief that life energy flows through all living things and that supporting the flow of that energy can encourage balance and well-being.
You do not need to share this belief or understand it in any particular way to experience a Reiki session. At Blue Bird, I offer Reiki as a complementary wellness practice and focus on creating a peaceful, supportive experience rather than asking you to accept a particular explanation for what you may feel.

What Can I Expect?
-
Before your session:
We'll take a few minutes to talk about how you're feeling, what brought you to Blue Bird, and anything you'd like me to know. You'll then get comfortable, fully clothed, on a treatment table.
-
During the session:
I'll use a series of gentle hand positions, either with light touch or with my hands resting just above your body. You may hear soft music or simply enjoy the quiet. You don't need to talk, meditate, control your breathing, or do anything "right."
-
You might feel during the session:
Warmth, coolness, tingling, heaviness, lightness, relaxation, emotions, physical sensations, vivid thoughts, or a feeling of stillness. Others notice very little at all. There is no right or wrong way to experience Reiki.
-
You remain fully in control throughout the session:
You can ask me to adjust the placement of my hands, change your position, pause the session, or stop at any time.
Why Reiki?
Reiki offers something that can be surprisingly difficult to find in everyday life: time when you don't have to accomplish anything.
A quiet, supported session can create a meaningful opportunity to step away from constant activity and simply receive.
People often seek Reiki when they're feeling stressed, overwhelmed, emotionally depleted, disconnected, or simply in need of rest. Some people describe leaving a session feeling deeply relaxed, lighter, calmer, more grounded, or more connected to themselves.
The Blue Bird Approach
Your session is a place where you don't have to perform, explain, or achieve anything. I create a calm, welcoming environment and remain attentive to your comfort throughout the experience.
You do not need to arrive knowing how to meditate, relax, heal, or even explain what you're feeling. You simply arrive as you are. My role is to create the conditions for you to slow down, receive, and reconnect with yourself.
What Makes Reiki at Blue Bird Different?
Reiki is at the heart of Blue Bird.
My approach is deeply personal and centered on creating a space where you can feel safe, welcomed, and completely free from the pressure to perform or be anywhere other than where you are.
You simply arrive as you are.
My role is to create the conditions for you to slow down, receive, and reconnect with yourself.
Over time, my hope is not simply that you enjoy an hour of Reiki. It's that these moments of intentional rest help you remember and hold on to what it feels like to be present, connected, and at home within yourself.
